With the introduction of trading to MCC Island, we are aware that certain players may use this opportunity to use trading in bad faith and attempt to scam other players out of their hard-earned coins or cosmetics.

To avoid being scammed, carefully check your trades and ensure you trust the people you’re trading with. There are multiple confirmation windows before a trade is finalised; however, please be certain of the trade before accepting.

By accepting a trade, players are responsible for its outcome**.** Lost cosmetics, items, or coins can’t be replaced or reimbursed.

Examples of Scams

Here are a few examples of Scams to be aware of, though bear in mind that this list isn’t exhaustive, and other techniques may be used.

• Asking players to give or borrow cosmetics or coins because they are new to the server
• Giving away items because they are quitting the server
• Item(s) described in chat are not the actual item(s) being traded.
• Asking to craft an item whilst holding something valuable of yours as a ‘deposit’
• Encouraging overbidding on an auction/trade, promising a much more expensive item or something of real-world value in return.
• Offering an IOU/Loan in place of a full trade
• Players running ‘giveaways’ that sound too good to be true
