What is Crafting?
Not everything on MCC Island comes conveniently packaged - some things youâll need to work hard to craft yourself!
Crafting is the art of combining items, materials and currency to create other items. Many items can be crafted, ranging from Chroma Packs to Mastery Keys, each with different resource requirements. It may take a little getting used to, but soon youâll be crafting masterpieces in no time!
What are Crafting Materials?
Before you can get crafting, youâll need to collect some materials. Almost anything can help create items, from rubber bands to pieces of exotic leather, and youâll need to collect various materials before you can create what your heart desires.
How can I obtain Crafting Materials?
Crafting Materials are mainly obtained from opening Material Pouches.
Material Pouches vary in rarity, and when opened, grant a range of materials based on the rarity of the pouch. Material Pouches can be found inside Crates and Treasure Chests, earned from Material Quest Scrolls, as well as being sold by vendors across the Island.
While Material Pouches are the primary way to find crafting materials, there are other ways too:
- Some crafting materials can be obtained rarely while scavenging certain items.
- Some crafting materials are created or upgraded by combining other crafting materials at the Fusion Forge.
- You can buy the crafting materials you need at Stellaâs Swapz in the Scavengers Hideout for Material Dust.
Once you have the materials you need, itâs time to head to a Blueprint Assembler and get to work!
What is the Blueprint Assembler?
At the Blueprint Assembler, you can use Blueprints and materials to construct cosmetics, chroma packs, emblems and more!
You can find the Blueprint Assembler in Splinterâs Workshop, which can be found within your Navigator.
What are Blueprints?
The Blueprint Assembler isnât very useful without something to assemble! Blueprints are items which allow the Blueprint Assembler to create specific items.
There are a few different types youâll encounter:
- Cosmetic Token blueprints, once assembled, grant a Cosmetic Token. You can redeem this token to unlock the relevant cosmetic.
- Faction Emblem blueprints can be used to assemble Faction Emblems, an item required to complete a Prestige Challenge!
Blueprints are single-use and will be consumed once the item is assembled.
Not a fan of a particular blueprint? Most blueprints can be scavenged for Knick Knack Tickets at the Scavengers Hideout.
How do I assemble a Blueprint?
Interact with a Blueprint Assembler to open the Blueprint Assembly menu.
Selecting the + icon will allow you to choose a blueprint to assemble from those in your Infinibag. To start assembling an item, youâll need to have the required crafting materials, as well as enough coins to cover the crafting cost.
Once you choose a blueprint and confirm youâd like to assemble it, assembly will begin! Assembling a blueprint isnât instant - it takes some time. You can open the Blueprint Assemblerâs menu to check how much time is left.
After the crafting time has passed, the item will glow, and clicking it will collect it, freeing up the slot!
What are Blueprint Assembler Slots?
The Blueprint Assembler can only handle a limited number of tasks at once. The number of Blueprint Assembler slots available to you varies based on the rank you have and the progress youâve made.
If all available slots are occupied, youâll need to wait for one to become free before assembling something else. You can also cancel an ongoing Blueprint Assembly task if you want to free up a slot immediately - shift-click the task and then confirm youâd like to cancel it.
âš Cancelling a Blueprint Assembly task will return the blueprint and crafting materials for that task but will not return the coins spent. âš
What are Assembler Overdrives?
Assembler Overdrives can be used to speed things up - each Assembler Overdrive allows you to reduce the remaining crafting time of all current blueprint assembly tasks by 2 hours when used.
These can be found in Treasure Chests, as well as purchased in shops around the Island.
What is Fusion Forging?
Another way to craft is the Fusion Forge. The Fusion Forge can be found in Splinters Workshop and the Scavengers Hideout - both within your Navigator.
The Fusion Forge works similarly to the Blueprint Assembler, with one key difference - thereâs no need to find blueprints!
Choose a recipe from the recipe book, provide the relevant materials, pay the crafting cost in Coin, and wait while the Fusion Forge gets to work!
Like the Blueprint Assembler, the Fusion Forge has a limited number of slots available at a time.
What are Forge Catalysts?
Forge Catalysts are like Assembler Overdrives but for the Fusion Forge. Each will reduce the remaining crafting time of all current Fusion Forge tasks by 2 hours when used.
Forge Catalysts can be found in Treasure Chests, as well as in shops around the Island.
